Spring is officially here!
Magnolia is a beautiful sign of the beginning of spring season, and I managed to do some Magnolia hunting on the weekend in Kensington and Chelsea area, which resulted in a very high step count (20,ooo steps!) but it was truly rewarding.
Unfortunately this beauty has such a short life span, so you should go and check them out right now while it's in full bloom before it's all gone in the upcoming weeks!
So here are 15 spots for Magnolia blossoms in London that you could see right now (March 2021).
I always try to make your life a bit easier so I've included a google map link if you click on the title ;)
I started my hunting journey in Ropers Garden and so glad to see that it was empty that we could have the garden to ourselves.
And then we walked up the pretty neighbourhood of Cheyne Row (where you would also find the famous No. Fifty Cheyne Restaurant along the way) and ended up in this pretty pink house in the corner that was hard to miss!
Walk around the block to the next street and you will find a white magnolia tree gorgeously standing in front of brown brick building. If you're lucky you'll see a pretty classic car too!
When we were walking along Old Church St, we saw some huge pink trees inside Carlyle Square, so it was such a delightful surprise to see this gorgeous tree as it was not even on my list!
If you go back to Old Church St and keep walking down you'll find this huge tree on your left. Can you imagine living there and waking up to this tree?
After that quick stop, keep going straight and after the big intersection with Fulham Rd, you'll see a street with pink trees on each side.
Now if you turn around and face the west, you'll find this gorgeous house with blue door covered with Magnolia blossoms. This has got to be the prettiest door in spring!
Then we did a bit of a walk to The Boltons, which is a street and garden square of lens shape full of gorgeous houses on the opposing sides, and is considered the third-most expensive street in the country.
On the next street parallel to The Boltons, you'll find The Little Boltons which has this huge Magnolia tree in their T junction with the Redcliffe Square.
Now continue walking towards Earls Court Gardens and you'll find another beautiful huge Magnolia tree. We also took this opportunity to get some takeouts from one of our fave Thai restaurants, Addie's Thai. Try their delicious deep fried cod fillet stir fry and pad thai, and thank me later!
After that we continued walking down the road and crossing the big Cromwell Rd intersection, and going towards the quiet Stratford Rd.
If you continue walking down the Stratford Rd, you'll find this row of pink and white magnolia trees off that street on your left.
After that we went to Eldon Rd and we found another beautiful tree that sits in front of a gorgeous tall Victorian building.
Then if you turn left on the intersection with Victoria Rd, you'll find two beautiful magnolia blossoms.
Then for our last (but definitely not the least) stop, it was this gorgeous house with stunning and tall pink tree.
That is all for the Magnolia walks we did last weekend (3rd week of March), and this only covers Kensington and Chelsea area. Hopefully we'll be able to do some more in Notting Hill area.
[UPDATE]:
We finally got to do some more walking and blossom hunting last weekend (last week of March) in Notting Hill area. Here are some extra blossoms for you:
We got off the tube at Notting Hill Gate and was just walking around the Hillgate St to see the colourful houses. Luckily we stumbled upon this cute house! It wasn't a huge tree but it was in its full bloom so it was really beautiful.
And then as we walked along Portobello Rd, we saw this pink tree on Elgin Crescent.
Another huge Magnolia Tree in sight! You can even spot this pink tree from a couple blocks away.
Now this is not in Notting Hill or West London, but this is such a nice surprise for me because it is literally just around the corner of where I live! And this might be one of the best one yet (my opinion might be biased on this one ;D)
Note to self – I should explore my own back yard a bit more!
What about you? Is there your favourite place to see the blossoms? Let me know in the comment section if I missed some spots!
BONUS:
Keep an eye out on these houses as they haven't fully bloomed when we walked past it (3rd week of March), but it might in the next one or two weeks! :)
