Spring in London just never disappoints, doesn't it?
And this purple bloom has actually been the season that I highly anticipate since I arrived in London last autumn. So to finally see this in real life just feels very magical and surreal to me!
Now I heard that their blooming time varies from one spot to another. So, to save you some time and disappointments, I'm going to share where to see the #WisteriaHysteria in full bloom right now, as usual complete with the Google Maps location!
(I will try to add and update the list when I find new spots!)
Time of visit: May 8, 2021
My first wisteria encounter was this gorgeous house covered in all the purple glory. I know, it's going to be so hard to beat, isn't it?!
I actually passed by a couple of months before when I was doing some Magnolia huntings. At that time it had nothing but branches all over the wall which got me thinking, this house would look amazing when it is in full green lush. Little did I know, before they turn green later in the summer, this magical purple blooms appear first, even better ha!
Then I did some walk while munching on my fave cinnamon bun from Gail's Bakery that I found on the way, which is already a perfect way to start this wisteria hunting.
And oh my God, this house just has Bridgerton vibes written all over it with the exposed brick wall and the lush greeneries, don't you think?
After that I walked across the Holland Park to Bedford Gardens and you'll actually find a couple of houses with wisteria before this one on the same street.
Just bear in mind that chances are you'll find some cars parked in front of it. So, if you don't find any cars, consider it your extra lucky day!
Now this one has a similar story with the first house on this list. We found this house covered with branches when we did magnolia hunting so I just thought to give this a visit when it's wisteria season. And lucky for me, it IS covered in wisteria too!
With that said, I was here around 11am and the lighting wasn't the best as you can see it was backlight. So my advise would be to come later in the day when the sun already comes down and gives the wisteria a full sun bath!
This was actually a nice surprise to me because this place wasn't even on my list! When I was walking up to Lonsdale Rd, I just spotted this purple corner and I can't believe how stunning and lush it is. Always love finding hidden gem like this!
Last but definitely not least, the wisteria on this house was really lovely with the blue wall against it! I think the pink door gives it a nice contrast too.
If you happen to be in Central London, feel free to pop in to this spot that is right by the hip Chiltern St. It might not be as big as the other ones but it is still a gorgeous one!
And also, dresses with pockets are just the greatest life excitement, aren't they?
That's all I got for now! I hope you find this guide helpful for your wisteria hunting activity once the sun decides to shine again.
I will try and keep updating the list whenever I find a new spot.
Feel free to give me some recommendation on your fave wisteria spot in the comment box below or DM me on Instagram!
